Find out why Woodbrass does not tune guitars before dispatch and the reasons behind this practice.

Do you apply guitar settings before sending?

At Woodbrass, all guitars are sent with factory settings provided by the manufacturer. We do not make specific adjustments prior to shipment for several reasons:

  1. Maintaining instrument stability: Changing settings before shipment could weaken the instrument during transport. Guitars are sensitive to variations in temperature and humidity, and adjustments made before sending may not be adapted once the guitar arrives at its destination.
  2. No universal adjustment: There is no single setting that would suit all musicians. Each guitarist has their preferences for string action, intonation, or tension. What is ideal for one player may not be suitable for another. That's why we prefer to let you adjust the instrument according to your own needs or consult a luthier.
  3. Factory settings: The guitars come in factory-configured condition, ensuring that you receive the instrument in accordance with the initial standards and settings determined by the manufacturer.

If you want to adjust your guitar after receipt, we recommend that you consult a luthier or make adjustments according to your preferences.
