To install a Strymon plugin, here are the detailed steps to follow:

1.Download the plug-in

  • Visit the official website of Strymon:Strymon plug-ins.
  • Log in or create an account, if necessary.
  • Go to the download page of the plug-in you purchased (for example,Strymon BigSky PluginorStrymon Deco Plugin).
  • Download the version corresponding to your operating system (macOS or Windows).

2.Installation of the software

  1. on macOS:

    • Open the fileby .dmgdownloaded.
    • Double-click Setup and follow the instructions.
    • Once the installation is complete, verify that the VST, VST3 and AU files (if necessary) are placed in your default plug-in folders:
      • Vst:/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST
      • Vst3:/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3
      • Au:/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components

  2. On Windows:

    • Launch the file.exedownloaded.
    • Follow the instructions in the installation wizard.
    • Choose the destination folder of the plug-ins (for example,C:\Program Files\VSTPluginsfor VST files).

3.Activate licensing with iLok

  • Strymon usesiLok License Managerto manage the licenses of its plug-ins.
    If you do not have iLok installed:

    1. Download it from the official website:iLok License Manager.
    2. Install and sign in with your iLok account (or create one if you don't have one).

  • Once connected:

    1. Enter the license code provided by Strymon in iLok License Manager.
    2. Activate the license on your computer or physical iLok key if you use one.

4.Configuration in your DAW

  1. Open your DAW (Logic Pro, Ableton Live, Cubase, Pro Tools, etc.).
  2. Make sure the folder of your plug-ins is configured in your DAW preferences.
    • For example, for Ableton Live:
      • Preferences>plug-ins> Activate the "Use VST2" and "Use VST3" options.
  3. Load the Strymon plug-in from the list of your plug-ins in your project.

5.Support and troubleshooting

  • If the plug-in does not appear in your DAW:
    • Check that the plug-in file is in the correct folder.
    • Refresh the list of plug-ins in your DAW settings.
